The key figure to revolutionising Korean rap was rapper Verbal Jint. Verbal Jint was the first to introduce actual rhyme scheme fit for the Korean language. Due to the language difference and grammatical differences from English to Korean, it was deemed too hard to rap and have proper rhyming schemes in Korean. However, he successfully introduced a way of rhyming by applying basic Korean grammar structures in order for them to be successfully made into rhymes. This made his rhyme flow and method become the standard method for Korean rapping. In addition, the way he had structured his rhymes and his flow has also allowed for the Korean language to be used to it's full capacity and change the style and lyrical qualities of Korean Hiphop.
His revolutionary rhyme structure could be heard in his song 'Overclass' in his debut album 'Modern Rhymes' in 2001 when he was only 21. It's particularly heard during the second verse of the song:
*rhymes in colour
(rap lyrics start at 1:27 - 1:48)
This track used to have the longest uniform rhyme scheme in the Korean language with 19 syllables (the entire 19-syllable phrase was followed by another different 19-syllable phrase which rhyme exactly in every syllable.
