Keyboard Warriors

Noun. keyboard warrior (plural keyboard warriors) (informal, pejorative) A person who behaves aggressively and/or in an inflammatory manner in online text-based discussion media, but at the same time does not behave similarly in real life, potentially due to cowardice, introversion or shyness.

This phrase 'keyboard warrior/s' often comes up in lyrics and discussions in Korean with netizens (internet netizens as they're often referred to in Korean), posting hateful, threatening and malicious comments about artists online anonymously on Korean portal sites. An infamous example of keyboard warriors is the 'TaJinYo' who started a malicious scandal about rapper Tablo accusing the rapper of forging his educational background and threatening him and his family nearly destroying his entire career.

Tablo mentions the online group in one of his lyrics in his track Born Hater with his group Epik High.

"Take your pants off show 'em if you will. Tajinyo  you're cute go ahed and crawl up to me, Im trying to love you" and representing them as cockroaches in the song's music video.

Other rappers like RM from BTS has continuously addressed keyboard rappers in his lyrics such as:

"All the haters do you wanna ride wit me,
Now you can ride wit me
Keyboard warriors do you wanna ride wit me
Now you can ride wit me..."

"I don't care go Twitter go share that shit,
Your narrow sight, your prejudice, pride I'll tear that shit"

-P.D.D (Plz Don't Die) w/ Warren G.

"everybody's mad
kill people with fingers on Twitter"

-Change ft. Wale
